We live in Kaitaia.
We are at the top of the North Island of NZ. We are never more than a half hour drive to each coast and there are lots of beautiful beaches all around us.
If you came to visit us these are the things that we think are absolute MUST-DO'S
🌞 All the beautiful beaches! Ahipara, 90 Mile Beach, Matai Bay, Rarawa, Great Exhibition Bay..... there are too many to list.
🌞 Cape Reinga. Where two seas meet. A beautiful spot where you can really feel the wairua.
🌞 The giant Te Paki Sand Dunes. It looks like a desert next to the ocean. You can ride down these on boogie boards - SO MUCH FUN!
There are so many things to do and see here. We have a rich history with Kauri and gum digging. We have beautiful forests, farms and lakes.
We love to get outdoors - camping, hiking, swimming, surfing, motorbike and horse riding.......

ReplyDeleteWe have been wondering where your school is. Kaitaia sounds beautiful. Our school is in Gisborne. We are less than 5 minutes to 3 beaches and 10 minutes to another, plus heaps more up the East Coast. If you come and visit, you must see or do:
Climb up Kaiti Hill for a great view of the bay.
Surf at one of our many beaches.
Ride on the steam train.
Feed the stingray at Pouawa.
Ride on the rail bikes - the bikes actually sit on the railroad.
Mountain bike up Fox Street.
Go to Speedway on a Saturday night.
Go to Miniputt and the Skate Park - they are next to each other.
Go down the Rere Rockslide - you will need to take a boogie board or inflatable tyre.
Visit Morere Hot Springs.
Whizz down the hydroslide at the Olympic Pools.
Take a picnic to Waihere Domain.
Visit Eastwood Hill.
And then there's Galaxy World too.
